In honor of Mike Huckaby, RIP, an amazing mentor to us all, and an amazing life-long student of the art of sound, music and love. A week before he passed, he told me to get a DX100 (long story). So I did. Well it arrived tonight, and I used it to lay down these string parts, and then shaped them with an enveloper to recreate a bowed-effect. Also in this track is the ASM HydraSynth, which Mike and I were working on a sound bank for together... you can hear those patches being run through the FR-XS prototype and also the high-pitch string stabs before the break.
This track is a solemn track but also one meant to send up upwards and onwards to the angels and cosmos above. Mike's music always transcended, and always surprised. My best to his family and loved ones, and I hope to donate the ASM Hydrasynth that is at his place in Detroit to an aspiring young artist, and to liberate the patches he worked on for a month leading up to his stroke and subsequent passing from COVID-19.

Mike, we love you, we miss you tremendously, and you will live on forever here on earth with your sounds, music and mentorship and smile.

I will eventually bounce the stems for this track and add to this album for no charge of course in case fellow artists want to remix...
